Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data The Rutues Center (the "app") collects, why, and how you can control it. It is written to be clear rather than legalistic. If something here is unclear, email us at mosaicchicagomonk@gmail.com.
Summary
- The app stores your tasks, profile, and preferences on your device. It does not require an account to function.
- The app does not use third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
- The app does not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing.
- When you use AI planning, your typed or dictated request is sent to Anthropic to generate a response. Nothing else is sent.
- When you connect Google Calendar, the app stores an OAuth token on your device to read and write events you authorize.
What we collect and why
| Data | Where it lives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Tasks, routines, notes you create | On your device (AsyncStorage) | Core app function: showing you your plan |
| Profile: chosen name, XP, level, streak, completion counts | On your device | Gamification and progress display |
| Voice input (when you dictate) | Processed on-device by Apple Speech Recognition; transcript may be sent to Apple per iOS settings | Voice-to-text for hands-free planning |
| AI planning request text | Sent to Anthropic's Claude API; not stored by us | Generate the AI plan you asked for |
| Google Calendar OAuth token (only if you connect it) | On your device | Read and create calendar events you authorize |
| Expo push notification token (only if you enable reminders) | On your device and on Expo's push service | Deliver task reminders you scheduled |
Third parties we use
- Anthropic (Claude API) — processes your AI planning prompts. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models. See anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
- Google — only if you choose to connect Google Calendar. Calendar access is scoped to events; the token lives on your device and you can disconnect any time from Settings.
- Apple — iOS handles speech recognition, push notification delivery, and microphone/photo permissions per Apple's policies.
- Expo — provides the push notification infrastructure when you enable reminders.
Permissions the app requests
- Microphone — to let you dictate tasks.
- Speech recognition — to transcribe your dictation.
- Photo library — to optionally attach images to tasks.
- Notifications — to deliver reminders you set.
Each is requested at the moment you first use a feature that needs it and can be revoked in iOS Settings.
Tracking
The app does not track you across other companies' apps and websites. It does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because it has no tracking to disclose.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your control over your data
- You can delete any task or routine in-app at any time.
- You can disconnect Google Calendar from Settings, which clears the stored token.
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
- For any other request, email mosaicchicagomonk@gmail.com.
Security
Data stored on your device is protected by iOS's standard sandboxing and, for tokens, by iOS-provided storage. Network requests to Anthropic and Google use HTTPS.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy materially, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, surface the change in the app.
